The preseason is, mercifully, almost minimum. There have been players that experienced exceptional sets. We have heard all about consumers. I'm not going to write one more toyota recall article debating how Carson Palmer tore up the field in 1st game back from injury, how C.J. Houshmandzadeh has been catching everything anywhere near him, that Tom Brady showed Washington why he is Tom Brady and how Drew Bledsoe has been impressive in holding off a potential challenge from Tony Romo. I'm fed up with hearing about those performances, especially when there have been other, less heralded players who have turned in impressive showings in the endless string of games that we've got to endure just before real season starts.
Yes, the Giants are 2-0. But they are the fraudulent form of undefeated. They tooled on the Cardinals (who doesn't?) and therefore topped an emotionally spent Saints club in a "road" game in Shirt. They have scored 69 points Fooball Panthers Fans significantly. Pretty impressive, right? But they're 26th in one payemnt offense providing run a large fewest plays (104) inside of the league. They've mostly been the beneficiary of special teams flukes and turnovers. Defensively, they're allowed 370 yards per contest.
I thought Jim Nantz and Phil Simms would get from a little catfight over the overtime rules in that Denver-Kansas City game. Simms sounded like he was PMS-ing.

Clemson is a large 44 point favorite in Thursday night's matchup against the Temple Owls. Temple supports the nation's longest losing streak coming into this one as the Owls have got 18 straight games. I am not expecting Temple to win, how could you, but they should be hyped to a max of play in Bank of America Stadium where the Carolina Panthers play. Clemson could be looking past Temple a minor bit as they face 13th ranked Georgia Tech and 22nd ranked Virginia Tech in subsequent weeks. Last season, the Tigers beat the Owls 37-7. I think Clemson is often a better team this year and my small lean is on laying the 44 pieces. Louisville beat the Owls 62-0 and Clemson in going to beat them badly as they want to.
